在国六排放标准实施的第二天，2019款GS8豪华智联版车型正式上市，售价为18.58万元。在新车上市之前，2017款的GS8车型已经上市近三年，只提供国五排放标准的车型。如果不提供国六版车型，GS8显然没有“活路”，那么新车此次除了排放标准达到国六标准之外，配置、动力会有提升吗？
2019款车型的外观、内饰没有改变，与此前中期改款车型的申报图不一致，只是更换了升级后的2.0T发动机，其最大输出功率252匹马力，390牛米。由此可见目前上市的2019款车型是初期版本与中期版本的过渡车型，仅仅是为了迎合国六排放标准的需求。
配置方面与2017款豪华智联版车型保持一致，配备了并线辅助、360度全景影像、定速巡航、自动驻车、远程启动、方向盘加热、无线充电、主副驾驶支持加热通风功能、主驾驶座椅记忆、全车窗一键升降、三区自动空调等配置。总体来说配置处于中等水平，与同级别车型对比竞争力稍弱。
回顾GS8中期改款车型的申报信息，新车主要针对前、后保险杠进行调整。前保险杠增加了熏黑的元素，更换了五连珠式的雾灯，个人认为美感不及现款车型。后保险杠的变化很小，银色护板与排气口相结合，视觉效果得到延伸。
至于内饰方面暂时未能下定论，因为从目前已经曝光的三组谍照图存在一定的差异。
一种是更换了与GS5一样的三幅式方向盘，依旧采用机械换挡机构，更换了核弹发射井式的中央扶手箱。另外一种是继续使用现有的四幅式方向盘，采用电子旋钮的换挡方式。第三种只能看到电子按键行驶的换挡机构。
从申报信息上看，新车新增225/45 R20尺寸的轮胎，配备360度全景影像、自适应巡航雷达和自动泊车雷达。动力方面搭载2.0T发动机，最大输出功率185KW（252匹马力），申报值的油耗为8.7L/100km，较现款车型而言有些许降低，传动方面或继续匹配6AT爱信变速箱。
传祺GS8刚上市时的热度很高，甚至需要加价几千元才能提车，压制GM8的产量，为GS8的产能让路。但从2018年初以来，GS8的热度逐渐降低，销量甚至跌出两千。销量下滑当然与自身的产品力不足脱离不开关联，上市近三年时间不作任何改款，导致配置、动力都落后太多。如今动力可算是追上来了，剩下的就看新车的配置提升程度有多高了。
