老司机说平时开车要遵守交通规则，因为现在交通法规真的很严格。但是在很多人看来无所谓，他们觉得没关系。但是一张驾驶证就十二分，如果扣完了就相当于驾驶证被吊销了。那么这个分到底是怎么计算的呢？交警提醒：驾驶证记分“年底不清零”了，一定要了解清楚别吃亏。
交通部门规定司机违反规定的计分周期为12个月，也就是总共12分。至于日期，是从取得驾驶执照之日算起的。如果一个新手司机是在在2月6日拿到驾照，那么每年2月6日的凌晨就开始一个新的计分周期。之前很多人说的，年底时候驾驶执照的分数归零肯定是错误的。
每个人的积分归零日期都不一样，但是大家一定要在自己的积分归零前，处理好违规罚款。同样重要的是，机动车驾驶证的使用和使用规定，如果驾驶员在一个积分周期内未达到12分，驾驶员只要将罚款处理，积分就会归零。不过司机要是未达到12分也没有未缴纳罚款，则积分将计算到下一个周期。
有种情况交警会扣留司机的驾驶执照，就比如司机的驾驶执照已经扣满了12分。这个时候司机需要在十五天内到发驾照的地方去参加为期七天的学习。如果考核合格的，驾驶证可以再次拿回。如果驾驶员考试不合格，就必须继续考试。如果驾驶员拒绝参加考试和学习，驾照就会被正式吊销。
