刹车就是可以减慢车速的机械制动装置，又名减速器。简单来说就是汽车刹车踏板在方向盘下面，踩住刹车踏板，则使刹车杠杆联动受压并传至到刹车鼓上的刹车片卡住刹车轮盘，使汽车减速或停止运行。下面的汽车刹车使用技巧大家要知道哦。
步骤/方法
1：紧急情况下的制动技巧当遇到紧急情况的时候就不要考虑车身是否“点头”了，以最短的时间、最短的距离减速至停车或安全绕开障碍物为准。
2：跟车防追尾制动技巧跟车时制动主要目的是与前车保持安全的距离，也就是通过制动保持与前车基本一致的车速。所以跟车时制动技巧的关键是缓踩制动踏板，保持制动力，再根据前车速度增大或减小制动力。
3：坡路制动技巧上坡路制动的技巧与平路上差不多，但由于车身质量带来的减速作用，制动力比平路行驶要稍小一些。下坡制动要用制动系统制动，还要利用发动机制动。下坡时特别是长坡不要长时间使用制动，这样容易导致制动摩擦片过热，致使制动效能下降，为了防止这一点，手动挡车型应采用低挡位下坡一般采用3挡。
