很多人准备买车时都会知道一个名词——ESP。虽然很多人不知道ESP配置是什么意思，但慢慢的就会了解了。ESP是指包括ABS和ASR的车身稳定性控制系统，也是ABS和ASR的升级拓展。ESP现在也是汽车防滑的最佳选择。很多有经验的司机都会说，一定要装一个ESP。对于一个刚上路的新手来说，ESP的安装是非常需要的，可以保证驾车的安全，减少事故的发生。以前的ABS和ASR反映较被动，而ESP可以有预防的效果，纠正错误的车辆驾驶状态。
过度的、不正确转弯都容易产生交通事故。在宽阔的马路上，如果有行人或动物突然出现，为了躲避车辆会迅速甩尾。传感器感受到车辆的滑动后，迅速制动、恢复粘合然后反向的转向。这样汽车还是按原方向行驶，避免了事故的发生。
ESP系统也是可以关闭的，并且在关闭状态下，ESP也还有一些作用的。为什么要关闭ESP系统呢？因为并不是在所有的行驶过程中，ESP都能回转车辆方向。在泥泞地、洼坑地、沙子地和水坑等地行驶过程中，车轮容易打滑，车轮的吸附力也小了很多，ESP不关闭的情况下会时刻对车轮方向进行干预制动，限制了发动机。另外，在有积雪的平坦路段和上坡路段行驶时，车轮容易倒滑，ESP反应快就会立即回转，这样容易阻碍车辆行驶，因此最好关掉ESP。
ESP作为比较新的稳定性控制系统，价格还是较高的，配置了ESP的车一般比不配置的车贵一万块左右，但为了安全还是有必要装置的。
