日前，据海外媒体报道，在刚刚开幕的芝加哥车展上，丰田正式发布了中期改款Tacoma，对比旧款车型，新车最大的变化在于前脸样式。此外，除了普通版车型外，丰田还将推出TRD Pro版本车型。
外观方面，新车采用了更新的大灯组设计，全新造型的多边形前大灯组让新款Tacoma看上去比旧款车型精致了很多。同时，大尺寸的黑色中网搭配角度垂直的车头显得很有爆发力，配合横贯式设计、样式粗狂的前包围，整体显示出很强的气场，圆形雾灯置于两侧，与老款车型相似。
作为中期改款车型，其车身侧面与尾部设计基本与现款保持一致，仅换装了新造型的轮毂。TRD版轮毂则采用全黑涂装，样式更显运动。
动力方面，新车将搭载2.7L直列四缸和3.5L V6两款发动机，其中2.7L发动机的最大功率为161马力，峰值扭矩244牛·米，并搭配6速自动变速箱；而3.5L V6发动机的最大功率为282马力，峰值扭矩359牛·米，传动方面匹配6速手动变速箱和6速自动变速箱。拖拽能力方面，新款丰田Tacoma最大拖拽达到了3084公斤。
