日前，从吉利官方获悉，捷豹设计总监韦恩·伯吉斯（Wayne Burgess）已经离职捷豹路虎，加入了吉利集团，担任吉利英国设计中心副总裁。
伯吉斯是一位资深设计师，自1997年开始进入捷豹工作，先后参与打造F-Type跑车、F-Pace SUV、I-Pace等重要车型。
吉利称，伯吉斯将带领一个由100名设计师和相关人员组成的团队在英国考文垂工作。吉利汽车集团设计执行副总裁彼得·霍伯里（Peter Horbury）在一份声明中表示，“吉利英国设计中心展示了吉利对英国市场的承诺，也显示出英国在创意和设计领域的领先地位。伯吉斯在豪华汽车设计领域拥有丰富的经验，这将有助于我们品牌的进一步发展。”
早在2015年，吉利在英国投资了5000万英镑（约合4.9亿元人民币），设立技术研发中心，研发和生产不同车型。考文垂设计中心是除上海、哥德堡、巴塞罗那以及洛杉矶之外的吉利集团的又一大布局。
