外观方面，五菱宏光S前脸为全新设计风格，大尺寸进气格栅，搭配带透镜大灯组（远近光分体），运动风格前下包围设计，而整体前脸线条相比现款为平直粗犷风格，走硬朗路线，雾灯区也为全新设计。
车身侧面的腰线相当的修长，尾部来看，五菱宏光S采用纵向尾灯组设计，尾灯内部为三个竖向排列的方形灯组，使得新车看起来更为硬朗。尺寸方面，五菱宏光S长宽高分别为4420/1685/1755（带行李架为1770）mm，轴距达到了2720mm。
内饰方面，五菱宏光S的设计更加简洁、风格更加年轻，配置也更为丰富。一方面通过应用激光雕刻皮纹、加大中排座椅行程、增强座椅包覆感来提升座椅的质感及舒适性，另一方面通过配备驾驶员侧窗一键下降、前门电动窗、电调外后视镜、双蒸空调、智能中控大屏、EPS电动助力转向等配置，充分提升车辆的实用性。
动力方面，五菱宏光S将搭载一台1.2L和1.5L自然吸气发动机，1.2L发动机的最大功率为60kw，最大扭矩为116N·m；而1.5L发动机的最大功率为77kw，最大扭矩为147N·m，传动方面都是匹配5速手动变速箱。
总的来说，五菱宏光S的外观非常大气，内饰方面也比较简约时尚，最重要的是动力性能表现能够符合该级别车型的表现，所以墨哥觉得这款车还是很不错的。
