ID.Family是大众独有的电动概念车家族，目前包括ID. 、ID. CROZZ、ID. BUZZ、ID. VIZZION、ID. BUGGY以及新成员ID.ROOMZZ。
4月14日，大众汽车在上海国家会展中心举行了大众品牌SUV之夜，发布了5款全新SUV车型，其中4款都为全球首发，ID家族的最新成员ID.ROOMZZ也在其中。这款现代七座车型还将在上海车展展出，它将揭示大众汽车在2021年发布的电动全尺寸SUV的设计方向。
ID.ROOMZZ是基于大众MEB平台开发的第六款概念车，之前被称为ID Lounge，它具有独特的外形风格，目的是实现空气动力学效率最大化。
它长4915mm、宽1890mm、高1760mm、轴距为2965mm。前端几乎完全封闭，LED灯带替代了格栅并向外延伸到前大灯，为这辆车提供了夸张的视觉宽度，另外前端的VW车标也是带有照明功能的。
前部突出的线条延伸到前门中间，传统的后视镜被安装在前门上的摄像头取代。它采用滑门设计，因此没有B柱。门把手是隐藏式的，只需轻触把手，车门即可自动打开。
尾部菱形网状和大面积的LED尾灯展现了它的未来主义风格，这种点缀也为车尾增添了更丰富的细节。
ROOMZZ的内部空间预计将大于途锐，它拥有全景式的玻璃车顶、悬浮式的驾驶界面和可以在自动驾驶模式时缩回仪表板的数字化方向盘。除此之外，它还拥有一个13.8英寸的数字仪表盘和中央的平视显示器。
虽然概念车有四个独立座椅，但大众已确认量产版计划为三排七座，车门也很有可能会改回传统车门。
大众还为这辆车配备了L4自动驾驶辅助系统，它车顶上的两个激光雷达装置就是为这个系统服务。它有ID.Drive与ID.Pilot两种驾驶模式，ID.Drive为人类驾驶模式，ID.Pilot为自动驾驶模式，该模式下方向盘会自动缩回隐藏。
Roomzz与之前的概念车ID.Vizzion使用同一个电动传动系统。它搭载了容量为82kWh的锂电池组，前后轴各使用一个电机驱动，功率分别为101马力和201马力，最大扭矩分别为140牛米和309牛米，可以带来总计302马力和448牛米的动力输出。
根据不同的驾驶模式，它还可以选择后轮驱动或全轮驱动。大众表示它完成0-100km/h的加速需要6.6秒，最高时速可达180km。在WLTP的测试标准下，它的续航里程可达450公里。
在高功率150kW的情况下，Roomzz充电到80％需要30分钟左右，并且它还支持无线充电技术。
ID.Roomzz在未来将会化身成为一款电动的三排座全尺寸SUV，并预计在2021年率先进入中国市场，量产车型或将对标特斯拉Model X。
大众还坦言这款车的目标市场是中国和北美，因为这两个地区的人比较喜欢大空间的车型，ID Roomzz有望成为大众在这两个地区的核心车型。
据说ID系列未来还将涵盖轿车、SUV、MPV等车型，在2020-2022年期间，MEB平台将会有8款车型实现国产，随后还会有3款进口车型。
