开车遇到太多的红灯很多人会心烦，有时一条路每个路口都会赶上红灯，我相信很多人都深有体会。也有的是两个路口相距很近，第一个路口绿灯了，第二个路口马上变成红灯，刚起步就要刹车等红灯，这都是信号灯设置的问题。有的路口信号灯设置没有关联，自己亮自己的，互不影响，有的路口信号灯设置是有关联的，一段路要么同时绿灯，要么同时红灯。绿波带的产生就是解决总遇到红灯这个问题的，能让车辆一路绿灯。什么是绿波带？什么是绿波速度？
绿波带就是在指定的交通线路上，当规定好路段的车速后，要求信号控制机根据路段距离，把该车流所经过的各路口绿灯起始时间，做相应的调整，这样一来，以确保该车流到达每个路口时，正好遇到绿灯。通俗的说，这一段路上信号灯变换是有关联的，变化时间都做了调整，车从第一个路口出发，以固定的车速行驶，到达每个路口都会是绿灯，也就是这一路都会是绿灯。这个路段就叫做绿波带，固定的车速叫做绿波速度。绿波带很多城市都没有，有绿波带的路段很多车主见了也不认识。一般会在信号灯旁边挂一个牌子，写着绿波速度是多少，这个路段就是绿波带，按照牌子上写的速度行驶，一路都会是绿灯。
绿波带一般设置在城市的主干道上，并且交通秩序比较好的地方，没有行人非机动车横穿马路的地方。想要一路绿灯，车速必须达到绿波速度才可以，快了或者慢了都不可以。从第一个路口看，不是所有通过第一个路口的车都能顺利通过绿波带，如果你在绿灯快结束的时候通过，可能就赶不上这一次的绿波。当然也不需要着急，你可能会排在下一个路口的前方，从下一个路口开始，按照绿波速度行驶，也就可以一路绿灯了。但如果你不按照绿波速度行驶，太快或者太慢是非常有可能一路红灯的。
有绿波带的道路会有一个牌子提示，其实在没有提示的道路上，也有可能有绿波车速，特别是那种宽阔畅通的道路。如果自己经常走某一条路，可以自己体会一下，寻找一下最佳车速。一般来说绿波车速要比最高限速低一点，比如限速60的道路，绿波车速可能是50-55之间。还有那种车速能跑起来，一路都遇到红灯的，也要考虑一下这一段是绿波带，自己的车速不恰当。
