2019年是上汽通用五菱蜕变之年，上汽通用五菱在2019年发布了全新品牌新宝骏，并启用了全新的钻石车标。同时发布了新宝骏的开山之作新宝骏RS-5，它刚面世就好评如潮，高颜值十分的吸引消费者。那么人们可能会问，新宝骏RS-5是否徒有外表呢？那就让我们从技术角度来揭开新宝骏RS-5的“里子”吧。
首先从动力性来说，它可以说是搭载了车市上同级别车型的主流配置，1.5T的发动机。动力上来算是主流配置，并且同时它配备了涡轮增压系统，让动力性能有了很大的提升。值得关注的是，1.5T发动机搭配了自动无级变速器CVT。让新宝骏RS-5在起步和换挡时候舒适性大大的提高，不会有卡滞和顿挫感。另外，众所周知的是，自动无级变速器CVT的传动效率是各类变速箱中的佼佼者。新宝骏RS-5的动力总成兼顾了动力性和燃油经济性，达到了一个相对好的平衡。
然后从新宝骏RS-5的安全性能上来评价，在它的被动安全性方面，考虑到行人和驾驶员的保护，高强度钢的使用量大大增加，这使得车辆的刚度和强度得到了很大提高。此外，前面和侧面，A柱和B柱采用高强度和超高强度钢来增强刚性；新宝骏RS-5在底盘上也下了一些功夫，它提高了底盘高度和座椅的高度，不仅使新宝骏RS-5具有非常宽的视野，而且进一步提高安全系数。在主动安全方面，车辆配备有恒速巡航系统和车道保持系统。通过LKA车道保持辅助和LDW车道偏离警告的配合来提高安全性，通过智能行人识别和车辆识别来识别车辆和行人。如果发生危险，车辆将主动制动。从主动和被动两个方面来加强行人的保护，最大限度的保护了成员和行人的安全。
再从新宝骏RS-5的NVH性能上来分析，由于设计了吸音棉和非常专业的密封条以防止声音泄漏，因此怠速时车内的噪音不容易从动力总成和风噪传递到驾驶室内。 此外，底盘配备前麦弗逊后部多连杆悬架和高端KONI减速机，四轮独立悬架使得车辆通过路面时候车轮保持相对的独立性，通过颠簸路面时候不会有很强的冲击感。从车身设计上，让车身和配件具有足够的动态刚度，车身声学包装也经过了精心设计，使结构和音腔不会产生强烈的耦合，从而避免驾驶室内的噪音放大。 低风噪外观设计，专业的双层密封和导槽窗口使密封具有很好的效果; 为了吸收高频噪声，吸音和绝缘材料覆盖整车，覆盖率达90％以上。
从这三个技术方面来评价新宝骏RS-5性能，总体来说新宝骏RS-5还是一款性能不错的SUV。
