如今跑在路上的车越来越多，事故发生率也随之增高，我们开车是时候不仅仅自己遵守交规就行了，还得时刻辨别他人开车是否规范。如果能养成防御性驾驶习惯，就可以极大可能的规避行车途中潜在危险，更好的保护自身安全。一般开车十几年的老司机都能做到以下几点。
保持安全车距
无论是在高速还是市区，保持安全车距是防止追尾最直接，最有效以及最根本的办法。始终与前车保持一定的距离，即使遇到紧急情况，就能给自己留有足够的刹车空间和时间。当然，这个车距没有绝对的标准，需要司机根据当时的车速，车型等参考物来做判断，比如高速一般车距为200米比较稳妥。
让速不让道
老司机经常说到的“让速不让道”就是防御性驾驶之一，保持自己车道行驶，尽量少变道，多一事不如少一事。特别是在高速上遇到紧急情况时，司机根本没时间去观察周围情况，如果猛打方向盘变道，不仅容易与其他车辆发生碰撞，还能引起车辆失控。这时候我们应该尽可能的制动减速，在安全的范围内再考虑变道。
路口绝不抢灯
很多司机赶时间，试图利用黄灯时间加速前行，往往这种发生事故的几率是最大的。在路口更要打起十二分精神，保持安全车距，减速慢行，宁让三分，勿抢一秒。
多看后视镜，洞悉四周
不少事故的发生，都是和司机的警觉状态有关，如果能提前注意道后方车子变道，转弯以及超车等情况，就能规避不少风险。所以，平时坐老司机的车，别看他们总是东张西望的，其实是在观察四周的情况，以防万一。
时刻做好备刹
在开车过程中不需要加速的时候，就把右脚从油门踏板上收回来，放在刹车踏板上，随时准备去刹车。特别是在交通情况很复杂的十字路口、公交站牌附近、高速公路出入口等这些容易发生事故的地点。在备刹状态下，即使多一秒的反应时间，也可以避免事故的发生。
看天气开车灯
每当天色有点灰暗的时候，即使你还能看得清路况，但也要及时打开车灯，这就是为了让周围车辆或行人尽早的发现自己的位置。若天气状况良好，夜间在城市内行车不要开启远光灯或者雾灯，开启近光灯即可。
