起名是一门学问，每一个名字的背后都有其独特的寓意与故事，借着王者荣耀世冠杯的比赛契机，已经面世有四个月的上汽大众新车T-Cross正式被命名为“途铠”，延续上汽大众途字辈家族光辉，新车被赋予了一往无前的征途和无畏坚韧的外在铠胄的寓意，代表着其坚定内心一往无前的进入市场的决心与斗志。这款新车基于大众MQB A0平台打造，相比欧版车型加长了88mm的轴距，共推出了4款车型，售价为12.79-15.99万元，与哥哥途昂，途岳携手共同角逐市场的争夺。
如果你是一位王者荣耀的爱好者，那么一定会非常喜欢途铠这个名字，拥有它则代表着你是一位勇敢的战士。与生俱来就被赋予了这样的英雄主义形象，所以，在外观上途铠并没有走萌宠的风格，而是走起了硬朗路线。新车外观延续了大众家族式设计语言，前脸采用大量镀铬条装饰，即便在保险杠处也添加了镀铬进行装点，在视觉上强调了低重心的理念，从而彰显出新车的野性。新车两侧提供了透镜式LED大灯，拥有非常不错的聚光效果，同时与靓丽的进气格栅紧紧连接在一起，增添了年轻与时尚的气息。车身侧面以简洁有力的线条为主，在双腰线的修饰之下使得这辆小SUV既充满肌肉感又精致有神。而车尾是一大亮点，立体LED尾灯与内部黑色饰板搭配，展现出它王者无畏的霸气。
得年轻人者则得天下，因此在内饰上，途铠非常注重年轻化元素的融入，首先新车首次采用了Color-matching同色内外设计，整个仪表台不再是一成不变的黑色，加入与车身同色的彩色饰板，在视觉上带给用户新鲜感。其次，在内饰细节处还添加了潮流的金属烤漆面板，增添了时尚感。最后，在科技感上，途铠也紧跟时代，配备了10.2英寸液晶仪表盘、8英寸多媒体中控屏，以及最新的MIB系统，可支持实时路况导航、地图在线升级、自然语音控制、Carlife/CarPlay/MirrorLink手机映射等功能，喜欢打王者荣耀的年轻人们坐在车内也可以实现驾车与玩乐的互通娱乐。
别以为年轻人只看脸，其他都不看，其实这届90后购车主力军比任何一代人都更注重动力表现，在动力上途铠非常自信。新车基于 MQB A0平台打造，搭载大众明星动力系统，为用户提供1.4T和1.5L两款发动机，其中，大众家族最受欢迎的1.4T涡轮增压发动机可为整车提供110KW的最大功率和250N·m的峰值扭矩，匹配7速双离合变速箱，给用户带来小钢炮的驾驭感受。而稳定平稳的1.5L自然吸气发动机最大输出功率为85KW，峰值扭矩为150N·m，匹配6速手自一体变速箱，化身精灵带精英们穿梭城市。
正式定名“途铠”之后，上汽大众T-Cross则被赋予了更富战斗气息的生命，这款新车填补了大众在小型SUV阵容部分的空白，虽未能赶上SUV车型火爆的时代，但大众车实力摆在那里，完成后来者居上，与本田缤智，XRV丰田奕泽等车型一较高低完全没有问题。
