奔驰汽车被认为是世界上最成功的高档汽车品牌之一，其完美的技术水平、过硬的质量标准、奔驰三叉星已成为世界上最著名的汽车及品牌标志，旗下车型都散发出优雅与尊贵的气质，全新的奔驰GLS完美的继承了奔驰的高端大气的魅力。
新车基于奔驰MHA模块化平台打造，保留了经典元素的同时，应用奔驰最新设计语言，双幅飞翼式镀铬条横贯进气格栅，并进行了镂空实心的三叉星徽，更显尊贵。下进气格栅的镀铬装饰面积加大，两侧取消雾灯设计，更具运动感。第一印象则是优雅与高贵，前脸采用更加垂直的设计，更大的进气格栅两侧是全新设计。其中大灯组内部采用矩阵式LED光源，同时造型进一步拉宽了新车的横向视觉效果。此外，新车依然提供运动套件和越野套件两种不同风格，其区别主要出现在进气格栅和前保险杠之上。
尺寸方面，全新一代梅赛德斯-奔驰GLS的长度达到5207mm，宽1959mm，轴距相比老款车型加长60mm，达到3135mm。
内饰更具科技感，12.3英寸全液晶显示屏和12.3英寸出名中控屏的设计，其空调出风口造型由此前竖状式改成矩形式设计，并在细节加入了金属拉丝饰板进行点缀，让该车在提升科技感的同时，又增加了几分奢华气息。
