当BMW M提供了一款更好的发动机后，全新BMW X5 M和X6 M变得强壮异常。BMW的4.4升双涡轮增压 V8动力可以输出高达600马力的功率，峰值扭矩750牛米，而雷霆版数据更高。在低转速区间，两款BMW新车将释放出巨大能量，进一步提升驾驶乐趣。

全新BMW X6M
全新BMW X5 M和全新BMW X6 M将于洛杉矶车展首发，除了超级动力，宝马还带来了BMW智能驾驶座舱、BMW智能个人助理和新一代泊车辅助系统等配置。
BMW的全新一代高转速V8发动机采用M Twinpower Turbo涡轮增压技术，对节气门响应精度进行了优化。所有动力通过带有Drivelogic与3种换挡模式的8速M Steptronic变速箱传递，驾驶者可通过M换挡杆上的Drivelogic按钮来选择换挡特性。
偏重后轮的M xDrive智能全轮驱动系统经过全新调校，优化了在非铺装路面和恶劣天气下的动力输出和方向稳定性。新车采用M专属底盘、悬架以及主动式M差速锁，提供了更为出色的道路操控性能和通过性。
第三代BMW X5 M、BMW X6 M用大尺寸进气格栅从视觉上拉伸了宽度，车身两侧的腰线从后门位置上扬，车辆使用的M专属空气动力学套件包括前后包围、后视镜、尾翼、鲨鱼腮侧通风口等处，极富视觉冲击力。
全新BMW X5 M、全新BMW X6 M车内大量采用专属的M设计元素，中控面板按钮可直接对发动机、悬架系统、转向机系统、M xDrive智能全轮驱动系统和制动系统进行设置。M运动座椅位置抬高，更便于日常驾驶。专属的M组合仪表、M真皮方向盘（带换挡拨片和M按钮）、M换挡杆、红色的发动机启动/关闭按钮以及BMW个性化定制Merino真皮材质的M多功能座椅等都是很亮眼的配置。
宝马表示将提供多种四驱模式，所有车型会得到自适应M悬架。另外，车辆使用的电控减震器可以有效防止侧倾，提供更好的操控能力。M8上首次出现的可调式刹车也出现在新车上，还有增加底盘刚性的支撑设计以及新式车轮。总体上，全新BMW X5 M和全新BMW X6 M重心更低，比基本车型更宽一些。
X5 M和X6 M海外市场起价分别为106,095美元和109,595美元，雷霆版车型起价分别为115,095美元和118,595美元。
