所谓驾驶技术都是每一个人从长时间以及经常驾驶车辆中锻炼出来的，每一位老司机与驾驶的时间以及驾驶的里程是成正比的，如果车开的比较少，驾驶技术当然不会熟练，道理大家都懂，但是实际操作起来，新手和老司机都是有明显的区别的，也别是在一些特殊的情况下，更加能看出这个司机是新手还是老司机。
超车
其实超车说难不难，说容易也不容易，如果是新手的话，超车的时候会显得犹犹豫豫，怕钱怕后的，这也是因为经验不足的原因造成的。而对于老司机而言，无论是在哪一种情况下，是在高速，还是需要跨越对向车道超车的情况，都清楚的知道，什么时候能够超车，能不能在安全的时间内超车，并不会显得犹豫。
刹车
很多新手都是喜欢走到前车的跟前然后来个大刹车，这是因为对于距离把握不足的造成的。但是对于老司机来说，会观察到前方比较远的情况，比如说红绿灯，知道自己能不能过去，或者是需要加速通过。并且会观察前车的动态，提前放开油门开始减速，这样不用踩过多的刹车便能刚好停在适当的位置，让乘坐的人员感到舒适，也就是所谓的顺着车辆的动态来开车，这样也比较省油。
习惯性看后视镜
不单单只是新手，很多人都不会观察车内后视镜的，从后座上堆满抱枕就能看出来。但是对于老司机而言，时常都会观察一下后视镜，知悉后方车辆的情况，知道后方车辆跟车距离的情况。而这样也能在突发的情况下，是否采取急刹还是避让的情况的操作。如果不知道前车跟车的情况采取急刹，很可能会导致追尾，虽然是对方的责任，但可能受伤比较严重的是前车。
提前打转向灯
可以看到很多人变道都是不打灯的，不要以为这些是老司机，真正的老司机变道前都会提前打转向灯。因为真正的老司机开车经历多，明白变道前提前打转向灯的意义有多大。
