11月21日，广州车展前夕，大众汽车集团（中国）宣布，将加大在华电动出行领域的投资。2020年，大众（中国）及其合作伙伴将共同投资超过40亿元，其中针对电动出行领域的投资将占总投资金额的40%，包括生产、基础设施建设以及电动汽车的研发。此外，大众在华两座纯电动车工厂也将在2020年正式投产，进一步推动大众集团在中国的电气化战略进程。

自大众汽车进入中国市场以来，大众在华累计销量已超过4200万辆。而在中国汽车市场进入存量时代，市场竞争加剧的环境下，大众汽车在今年前10月份累计在华交付超过了334万辆，市场份额提升至19.5%。中国汽车市场的成功，给与了大众集团极大信心，这也是促成大众加大在华投资的重要因素。

大众汽车集团（中国）CEO冯思翰博士表示，“随着市场的不确定因素持续存在，我们预计市场整体水平将出现连续第二次下滑。预计2020年，整体市场状况与今年相差无几。尽管挑战重重，大众汽车集团（中国）仍有望以稳健的表现，取得超越市场整体水平的成绩。”此外，冯思翰还透露，“未来几年内，大众在新能源汽车领域的投入将超过燃油车。”

按照大众集团的规划，到2019年底，大众将在华推出14款全新的新能源汽车，并从2020年开始全面开启在华的新能源产品攻势，预计在2025年前推出30款在国内生产的新能源汽车，实现其新能源汽车本土销量达到150万辆的目标。

据了解，2020年，大众在华两家新能源工厂上汽大众安亭工厂和一汽-大众佛山工厂将正式建成投产。届时，大众在华将新增60万辆产能，这将为大众实现在华新能源销量目标提供有力保证。

除了加大在中国市场的新能源攻势外，大众在全球也正积极推行可持续发展目标，并发布了“goTOzero”战略。该战略包括减少产品生产过程中的能源消耗以及到2025年新能源汽车产品占整体产品组合至少35%的目标，并力争到2025年实现完全碳中和。
