当地时间21日，特斯拉推出旗下首款电动皮卡。在发布会现场，特斯拉首席执行官马斯克揭开首款电动皮卡的神秘面纱，银色的金属光泽、全封闭的车身、百叶窗式的后箱盖，颇具科幻色彩。△央视财经《经济信息联播》栏目视频
马斯克表示，这款皮卡的车身外壳非常坚固，可以阻挡口径9毫米手枪的子弹袭击。现场马斯克邀请了一位男子上来现场测试玻璃的超强防弹能力。
不过令人尴尬的是，当这位男子用一个圆形的金属球砸向驾驶座侧边玻璃时，玻璃碎了。
马斯克对测试的结果倍感惊讶，他调侃说“或许是砸得太用力了”，并表示在之前的测试过程中，曾朝着玻璃扔过扳手等各种东西，玻璃都没碎，之后会对玻璃进行修复。
特斯拉电动皮卡提供了250英里、300英里、500英里三种续航版本，在美国地区的起售价格为3.99万美元，约合28万元人民币。
