近日，丰田汽车发布了一组RAV4 Prime车型的官图。新车为RAV4的插电混动版本车型，外观部分沿用了最新款RAV4的设计风格，配有双色车身，最快将于2020年夏季上市。而这款车型将是有史以来功能最强大、性能最强大同时也是最省油的RAV4。
RAV4 Prime沿用了最新款燃油版RAV4的设计风格，平直的线条设计让整台车看上去更加硬朗。不同之处在于，插电混动版车型增加了一些运动包围和亮黑色的轮眉，让郑开车看上去更加运动且精致。
车标为丰田混动车型的蓝低样式，在车标下方还有一枚摄像头，作为车身360度全景影像使用。
车侧造型没有改变，根据消息插电混动版车型将配备18英寸轮圈，镀铬亮面材质让整台车有了美式车的味道，同时也为整台车增加了豪华感。
车侧前翼子板上增加了PLUG-IN HYBRID字样，证明着自己插电混动车型的身份。
车尾与燃油版车型没有太多区别，不同之处在于加入了很多钢琴烤漆材质，让车辆外观看上去更加完美。
动力部分是这台车最大的亮点，新车将搭载一台搭2.5L阿特金森循环发动机+电动机组成的插电混动系统，这套系统由于采用了大容量锂离子电池、升压转换器和更加强大的电动机，其总功率相比于Hybrid混动版相比增加了83马力。丰田计划在5.8秒之内让车辆加速至60英里/小时，相比于混动版本0至60英里/小时7.8秒的时间来说更快。
